EMPOWERING YOUNG BLACK SOUTH AFRICAN FARMERS
Farmers for Africa is a dynamic and innovative non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to the empowerment and advancement of a new generation of South African farmers. Founded with a vision to transform the agricultural landscape in South Africa, ensuring continued food security while enabling more equitable ownership of farmland, Farmers for Africa focuses on providing essential resources, education, and support to young black farmers so that they can one day fulfil their ambition to farm their own land.
Our mission is to cultivate a sustainable and prosperous agricultural sector by equipping these future young black farmers with the tools, knowledge, and opportunities they need to succeed. Through comprehensive training programmes, access to cutting-edge agricultural technologies, and robust community support networks, we aim to foster an environment where young farmers can thrive and contribute to sustained food security and economic growth in a healthy, vibrant agricultural sector with equitable land ownership.
Farmers For Africa places young black agricultural college graduates on farms where they are mentored by experienced farmers and tutored on the practical aspects of farming so that after three years they have the experience, endorsement and certification that make them marketable.
Empowering young black farmers in South Africa will help enable normalised farming, which will help enable a normalised society while helping to put food on the table.
